Mino's design is very unique. Based on antique Shinais, with the KOTO style, it has a straight finish, all through the Shinai/Jukdo (which is opposite to the Dobari Shinais). MINO was based on a Shinai that an old 8 Dan Sensei gave to me. The bamboo is specially treated with BIO Technology for durability, giving a dark traditional look. Very beautiful finish.

"It was a big surprise when an old 8 Dan Sensei gave me his Shinai that was given to him by his Sensei, about 40 years ago. This old Shinai had a very different concept than what the Shinais are now days. It even felt that I was holding a real sword. It had a very nice balance, and it did not have that fat Dobari feeling.
