TOSA BESSAKU is one of e-bogu Top Quality MADAKE Shinais/Jukdos. The shape is between the KUNIMASA and a KOTO Shinai, which is a brand new line in our Shinai selection.

"It took me a long time to come up with this Shinai. In the past I have created Shinais based on Shinais that I had and liked. However, TOSA is a totally new Shinai, which I created from nothing. I spent a lot of time because this Shinai was created working directly with the craftsman, after making many prototypes. The handle portion of the Shinai is medium thickness, with the right and the left hand about the same diameter. The TOSA BESSAKU is not a Dobari Shinai, nor a KOTO Shinai. What makes the BESSAKU series so special is the special way we cut the bamboo. The corners of each Bamboo piece is more angular, compared to our other Shinais. Please give a try.
